First Entry Ukraine Ticket

The Emergency Ticket Ukraine will expire as of 31 October. Analogously to the European railways, an adequate replacement product will be introduced. The First Entry Ukraine Ticket (Erstankunft Ukraine-Ticket) will be issued to people with a Ukrainian passport:

  • by the train attendants in trains arriving from the direction of Czechia, Slovakia, and from Hungary
  • at the travel centre in Vienna Central Station, where the Emergency Ticket Ukraine had already been issued since summer 2022, and Graz Central Station

An accompanying information campaign for displaced persons will be offered in Ukrainian and German at the ÖBB travel centre and by the train attendants.

Validation

Valid for 24 hours after ticket issuance for one journey from the Břeclav border (Czechia), Marchegg border, Kittsee border (Slovakia), or Hegyeshalom border (Hungary) as well as Vienna Central Station and Graz Central Station to an ÖBB railway station in Austria or to the Passau station (Germany), Buchs SG station (Switzerland), Brennero/Brenner station, or Tarvisio Boscoverde station (Italy).

Valid in trains operated by ÖBB for a single journey in 2nd class within Austria from one of the border stations or from Vienna Central Station or Graz Central Station.

Issued directly in the train by the train attendant on cross-border journeys. If a displaced person does not encounter a train attendant in the train or does not enter Austria by train, a ticket will be issued (solely) at the travel centres in Vienna Central Station or Graz Central Station.

From 1 November

Issue of the First Entry Ukraine Ticket by the train attendants in trains coming from Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary as well as at the travel centre in Vienna Central Station, where the Emergency Ticket Ukraine had already been issued since summer 2022, and Graz Central Station.
