SMACKER project aimed at addressing disparities in mobility in peripheral and rural areas, designing and promoting efficient and sustainable public transport services.

Main Outputs achieved are: finalization of pilot implementations in the 6 pilot regions in Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary and Austria, 4 of which include also investments on equipment; release of 6 Regional Action Plans to better integrate peripheral areas using DRT; delivery of 10 transnational trainings to non-partner CEU Authorities; preparation of 4 Guidelines on DRT planning and implementation for Policy Authorities, Public Transport Service providers, Users, Business & Enterprises; creation of the SMACKER online Toolbox that is the long-lasting inheritance of the project.

During the final period, the activities in the 6 pilot areas were completed: operations were accompanied by ad-hoc nudging&communication initiatives and were constantly and successfully adapted to the evolving COVID19 pandemic.

SMACKER also completed its “Growth and Expand” initiatives: the ETP with 10 selected followers, who prepared their DRT development Action Plans under the SMACKER guidance, the SQPM-On-Tour activities, with its 12 events. The project outcomes were also presented at POLIS Conference in Goteborg in December 21.

The SMACKER Final event, a public conference, was held in Vienna on 24 May 22 and was attended by 60 participants. All the material is available HERE
