The REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 concerns the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals.
The Regulation, dated 18 December 2006, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 30 December 2006.
The Member States are responsible for the enforcement of the REACH requirements. In Austria, the penalties are defined in the amendment to the Chemicals Act, Federal Law Gazette I No. 7/2012. The surveillance is carried out by Chemical Inspectorates in the Austrian Federal Provinces (indirect federal administration).
